ONLINE BAKING CLASSES

Learn to make bakery and restaurant quality food  from the comfort of your own home.  All online classes are live, hands on and interactive.

Intro to Artisan Bread

Bake a loaf of artisan bread using a Dutch oven and the no-knead overnight rise method.  Live online class, approx. 4 hours in length (with breaks while dough rises).  $20 CAD

Class Description:

The perfect introductory course if you have little or no experience baking bread.  Detailed materials, ingredients, recipe lists and step by step instructions will be emailed out to all participants one week before the class date. *Important note: You will mix the dough the evening before the class. This is a self directed task, and you will have access to a video demonstrating the mixing process. It will take around 10 minutes. Please keep this in mind when booking the class*

 

Required Class Materials:

Dutch/French oven (or bread/loaf pan, oven safe pot or pan and a kettle if you don't have a Dutch/French oven)

Kitchen Scale (or measuring cups and spoons if you do not have a kitchen scale)

Bread Banneton (or medium sized bowl and dish towel if you do not have a banneton)

Bench/Dough/Pastry Scraper - plastic or metal (highly recommended)

Oven Mitts

Large Plastic Bag or plastic wrap 

Wire racks for cooling

Pizza Margherita

Neapolitan style pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil. Live online class, approx. 2.5 hours in length (with breaks).  $20 CAD

Class Description:

An Italian classic. Simple, elegant flavors. A great introduction to using a pizza stone, and once you try this crust, you'll want to make it time and time again. Detailed materials, ingredients, recipe and step by step instructions will be emailed to registered participants one week before the class is scheduled.  *Important note: You will mix the dough the evening before the class. Pizza Peel/Paddle (or a no edge cookie sheet)

Cinnamon Buns

Buttery, soft, delicious cinnamon buns.  Live online class, approx. 4 hours in length (with breaks).  $30 CAD

Class Description:

These are so tasty it's ridiculous. You won't believe you didn't get them at a professional bakery. Detailed materials, ingredients, recipe and step by step instructions will be emailed to registered participants one week before the class is scheduled. 

Required Class Materials:

Kitchen scale (optional) OR measuring cups (if not using a scale)

Measuring spoons

Large plastic bag or plastic wrap for covering the dough while rising

Wooden spoon

Bench/Dough/Pastry scraper

2 small or medium sized saucepans

Whisk

Rubber spatula

Large mixing bowl

Small or medium sized bowls or containers to hold pre-measured ingredients

Rolling pin

Pastry brush

Serrated knife and cutting surface for slicing the dough

Tape measure (optional - for measuring rolled dough)

9x13 glass or other baking dish

A large platter or pan minimum size 9x13

Parchment paper (optional)

Pyrizhky - Ukrainian Sauerkraut Buns

Learn to make Ukrainian sauerkraut buns, just like baba's!  Bacon, onion and sauerkraut inside a pillowy soft delicious bun.  Live online class, approx. 4 hours in length (with breaks).  $30 CAD

Class Description:

My Ukrainian grandma made these and they would get eaten as fast as they came out of the oven!  My recipe calls for a decent amount of bacon, so for you bacon lovers, this one's for you.  We will prepare the dough and the filling during class.  Detailed materials, ingredients, recipe and step by step instructions will be emailed to registered participants one week before the class is scheduled.

Measuring cups 

Measuring spoons

Large mixing bowl

Large plastic bag or plastic wrap for covering the dough while rising

Wooden spoon

Bench/Dough/Pastry scraper

Small saucepan

Frying pan

Cutting board

Kitchen knife

Food processor (optional - for finely chopping onion)

Strainer and bowl (to drain liquid out of the sauerkraut)

Paper towels

Plate

2 Baking sheets (mine are 11x17)

Parchment paper (optional)

Wire racks for cooling
